– Door and window dimension measurement –

First, the original doors and windows have been demolished when the door and window measurement

When the original doors and windows have been demolished, before measuring, you should first check whether the door and window openings are completely cleared, and whether the original brick surface is exposed after the plaster layer on each side is removed. The sides of the culling opening should be free of ash layers and foreign matter that affect measurement and installation.

The measurement of the opening window of the planar wall measures the width of the top and bottom sides of the opening (the distance between the upper and lower brick faces) and the left and rightmost heights (the distance between the left and right brick faces) respectively, and then selects multiple points in these two directions according to the width or height as appropriate, and measures the corresponding width or height of its position respectively. Take the minimum values of width and height in the above measurements as the width and height of the opening.

1. Measurement of conventional balcony windows

Conventional balcony refers to the balcony with a corner of 90 degrees, and the measurement of the balcony window is centered on the top width of the balcony railing according to the window frame, that is, the margin inside and outside the window frame is the same.

With corner balcony windows, if the side windows are regular windows, then the front and side windows are of the same height; If the side window is a special-shaped window (unequal height on both sides), the height of the corner side of the side window is equal to the height of the front window.

Balconies with corners are divided into L-shaped balconies and U-shaped balconies, which are measured as follows:

2.1, L-shaped balcony window measurement

  • Front window width measurement:

Measure the distance between the inner (outer) corner of the top surface of the balcony railing and the lateral brick surface of the front of the cave entrance, and record it as W inside (W outside).

  • Side window width measurement:

Measure the distance between the inner (outer) corner of the top surface of the balcony balustrade to the positive brick surface on the side of the opening, and mark it as W side inside (W side outside).

  • Front window height measurement:

Measure the distance between the top façade of the balcony railing and the wall connection to the upper side beam plate and the distance between the corner and the upper beam plate, and take the point in the middle as appropriate according to the width of the front part, measure the height of the corresponding part of it, and take the minimum value in the measurement result as the opening size of the window height of the front part.

  • Side window height measurement:

Measure the distance between the top side of the balcony railing and the wall connection to the upper side beam plate, and compare the measurement results with the height of the front window measured above, if the difference is greater than 20mm, the side window should be treated as a special shape, that is, the height of the two sides is not equal, and vice versa, the conventional window, the height of the two sides.

  • Balcony railing width measurement:

Measure the distance between the inner and outer walls of the top surface of the balcony balustrade.

Each measurement point may be referred to in figure II.

2.2, U-shaped balcony window measurement

  • Front window width measurement:

Measure the distance between the two corners of the inner (outer) side of the top surface of the balcony railing and record it as W inside (W outside).

  • Side window width measurement:

Measure the distance between the positive brick faces on the sides of the opening in the inner (outer) corner of the top surface of the balcony balustrade, and record it as W side inside (W side outside).

  • Front window height measurement:

Measure the distance between the two corners of the top surface of the balcony railing and the upper beam plate, and take the point in the middle according to the width of the front part, measure the height of the corresponding part respectively, and take the minimum value in the measurement result as the opening size of the window height of the front part.

  • Side window height measurement:

Measure the distance between the top side of the balcony railing and the wall connection to the upper side beam plate, and compare the measurement results with the height of the front window measured above, if the difference is greater than 20mm, the side window should be treated according to the special shape, that is, the height of the two sides is unequal, and vice versa, the conventional window, the height of the two sides.

  • Balcony railing width measurement:

Measure the distance between the inner and outer walls of the top surface of the balcony balustrade.

Each measurement point may be referred to in Figure III.

3. Measurement of unconventional balcony windows

Unconventional balconies refer to balconies with a corner of not 90 degrees, of which 135 degrees are more common.

The measurement of unconventional balconies is more cumbersome, and the specific measurement parts and dimensions are shown in Figure VII.

4. Measurement of special-shaped doors and windows

  • Measurement of semicircular doors and windows:

Measure the diameter or radius of the semicircular opening and the farthest point of the arc to the vertical distance of the confirmable positioning line.

  • Measurement of circular doors and windows:

Measure the diameter or radius of a circular opening.

  • Measurement of curved doors and windows:

Measure the vertical distance from at least three special points on the arc opening (where the anchor point can be confirmed) to the confirmable positioning line.

  • Measurement of straight-sided doors and windows (each side is in a straight line form):

Measure all inflection points on the opening to the vertical distance of the confirmable positioning line, or use a mixture of length (or width) and angle, but the data listed should be detailed to ensure that its dimensions are unique.

  • For the side of the opening is sloped (that is, the opening is not parallel to the two sides), the depth of the hole should be entered in the opening when the user is informed of the installation of doors and windows, and the size of the corresponding installation site should be measured.
  • If the height difference between multiple openings in the same room exceeds 2cm or more, ask the customer if it is adjusted to the same height.
  • The measurement of complex special-shaped openings can be modeled according to the actual situation or needs.

The measurement method of the dimensions of the special-shaped window is shown in Fig. 4.

Second, the original doors and windows are not demolished when the doors and windows are measured

1. Measurement of the opening window of the flat wall

When the original doors and windows are not demolished, the measurement should be carried out at the junction of the outdoor door and window frame and the wall, that is, the root of the outdoor side wall finish, and the height of the upper and lower sides of the outdoor side of the window frame and the root of the wall finish and the width of the left and right sides are measured respectively. Then select multiple points in the above two directions as appropriate according to the width or height, and measure the width or height of their corresponding positions respectively. Take the minimum values of width and height in the above measurements as the width and height of the outer layer of the opening finish.

2. Measurement of conventional balcony windows

The measurement method for balcony windows without corner side windows is the same as 2.1.

2.1, L-shaped balcony window measurement

  • Front window width measurement:

Measure the distance from the outer corner of the top surface of the balcony balustrade to the root of the exterior finish of the front window frame, and mark it as Wˊ.

  • Side window width measurement:

Measure the distance from the outer corner of the top of the balcony railing to the root of the exterior finish of the side window frame, and denote the Wˊ side outside.

  • Front window height measurement:

Measure the distance from the root of the outer veneer of the outer window frame to the top of the upper frame at the side where the balcony front window connects with the wall and the corner, and take the point in the middle as appropriate according to the width of the front part, measure the height of the corresponding part of it separately, and take the minimum value in the measurement result as the opening size of the height of the front part window.

  • Side window height measurement:

Measure the balcony side window and the wall to connect the lower window frame outside the root to the upper side of the window frame outside the root distance, the measurement results, and the above-measured height of the front window, if the difference is greater than 20mm, the side window should be treated according to the special shape, that is, the left and right frame heights of the side window are not equal, on the contrary, the conventional window, the height of the two sides.

  • Balcony railing width measurement:

Measure the distance between the inner and outer walls of the top of the balcony balustrade.

2.2, U-shaped balcony window measurement

  • Front window width measurement:

Measure the distance between the corners of the inner (outer) side of the balcony railing and record it as Wˊ inside (Wˊ directly outside)

  • Side window width measurement:

Measure the distance from the outer corner of the top surface of the balcony balustrade to the outside of the side window frame and the skin junction of the wall finish (the root of the outer finish), and mark it as Wˊ side outside.

  • Front window height measurement:

Measure the distance between the lower window frame and the outer layer of the veneer at the two corners of the balcony to the outer layer of the upper side beam panel, and take the point in the middle according to the width of the front part, measure the height of the corresponding part separately, and take the minimum value in the measurement result as the opening size of the window height of the front part.

  • Side window height measurement:

Measure the distance between the balcony side window and the wall connection between the lower window frame and the outer layer of the veneer to the upper side beam plate finish, and compare the measurement results with the height of the front window measured above, if the difference is greater than 20mm, the side window should be treated according to the special shape, that is, the left and right frame heights of the side window are not equal, on the contrary, the conventional window, the height of the two sides is equal.

  • Balcony railing width measurement:

Measure the distance between the inner and outer walls of the top of the balcony balustrade.

Each measurement point can be referred to in Figure VI.

3. Measurement of unconventional balcony windows

The specific measurement parts and dimensions of the unconventional balcony are shown in Figure VII.

4. Measurement of special-shaped doors and windows

  • Measurement of semicircular doors and windows:

The diameter or radius of the outer layer of the arc finish on the outside side of the semicircular opening and the joint part of the door and window frame and the farthest point of the arc are measured to the vertical distance of the confirmable positioning line.

  • Measurement of circular doors and windows:

Measure the diameter or radius of the outer layer of the circular arc finish on the outside side of the circular opening and the junction of the door and window frames.

  • Measurement of curved doors and windows:

The vertical distance from at least three special points (confirmable anchor points) on the outer layer of the arc finish on the outside side of the arc opening and the junction of the door and window frames to the confirmable positioning line is measured.

  • Measurement of straight-sided doors and windows (each side is in a straight line form):

Measure all the inflection points on the outer layer of the exterior finish of the opening and the junction of the door and window frames to the vertical distance of the confirmation of the positioning line, or use a mixture of length (or width) and angle, but the data listed should be detailed to ensure its dimensional uniqueness.

  • For the side of the opening that is sloped (that is, the opening is not parallel to the two sides), the depth of the hole should be entered in the opening when the door and window installation is informed to the user, and the outer dimensions of the surface of the corresponding installation site should be measured.
  • If the height difference between multiple openings in the same room exceeds 2cm or more, ask the customer if it is adjusted to the same height.
  • The measurement of complex special-shaped openings can be modeled according to the actual situation or needs.
  • The measurement of the size of the special-shaped window may refer to the size of each part in the fourth drawing, and the measurement shall be based on the root size of the exterior surface of the window.

– Precautions for door and window measurement –

1, construction safety: some doors and windows need to measure the size of their outdoor side finish, in the measurement should ensure safety.

2. Necessary space: When measuring, the space around the measurement point should be observed on the spot, and the necessary space for a door and window handling, rotation, and installation should be estimated whether the necessary space is sufficient, so as to determine whether the larger doors and windows are patched or framed on the spot. For doors and windows that need to be lifted outdoors, it should be checked whether there is a lifting port.

3. Explain to the user the matters that need to be handled before and after the installation of doors and windows

The demolition of the original doors and windows and the opening of the opening are solved by the user himself, the opening of the chisel should be thorough, the interior wall side and the door and window around the finish layer and the plastering layer should be completely removed, the outdoor side plastering layer can be retained, but the edge of the plastering layer and the door and window frame joint part should be flattened, without affecting the installation of ash blocks or stubble. The wall plastering after the installation of doors and windows is solved by the user himself.

5. Draw a detailed door and window separation diagram, and the dimensions of each part should be accurate and clear.
